Vocational Program
We are excited to introduce our new vocational program that will be delivered through two new divisions of the Sport-Social brand, Ramp’d Up Café and The Skate Shop. Through this new program, we will be able to provide real, functional, and engaging job training to young adults in our community. We pride ourselves in our culture and we are eager to give our students an opportunity to work alongside our team in this unique job training program.
Young adults in the program will meet once per week for 90 minutes in a small 6:1 group setting. Each week, in their group class, students will review their progress with their assigned jobs while being introduced to new skills related to acquiring and maintaining meaningful work. Students will be assigned homework each week so they can continue to hone in and refine their skills. Each student will be scheduled for a 2-hour shift working in The Skate Shop or the Ramp’d Up Café. Our Board Certified Behavior Analysts will customize goals for each student so that they can begin learning to work independently. Our team of Registered Behavior Technicians (RBT) will be scheduled alongside to help target goals and to assist in making sure each 2-hour shift is successful. Each shift will have one RBT instructor and two young adults scheduled. Please note this program is designed for those that are able to learn in a group setting and are a minimum of 14 years old, however, we do also offer custom 1:1 job training programs.
Ramp'D Up Cafe
While scheduled to work in our Ramp’d Up Café, responsibilities will consist of selling healthy snacks and bottled drinks, as well as making and selling fresh coffee and tea. Students will receive hands-on experience in the areas of money handling, customer service, credit card transactions, inventory management, and more.
The Skate Shop
While working in The Skate Shop, students will be helping us take sanitation and organization to the next level. Here, students will be responsible for giving out equipment, accepting returns, cleaning equipment, fixing equipment, organizing supplies, and more. Working alongside our diverse staff of skateboarders and artists, students will develop a strong work ethic and learn how to build even stronger bonds with their co-workers.
